  China is inoculating tens of thousands of its citizens with experimental coronavirus vaccines and attracting international interest in their development, despite expert concerns over the safety of drugs that have not completed standard testing. China launched a vaccine emergency use programme in July, offering three experimental shots developed by a unit of state pharmaceutical giant China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) and US-listed Sinovac Biotech. A fourth COVID-19 vaccine being developed by CanSino Biologics was approved for use by the Chinese military in June. The UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced an "emergency approval" for use of the #Covid19 vaccine. The vaccine will be available to the "first line of defence heroes who are at the highest risk of contracting the virus", a minister announced. This will protect them from any dangers and provide safety precautions. "The vaccine emergency approval for use is fully aligned with regulations and laws which permit accelerated authorisation process," said Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention (MoHAP). "The results of the first and second test phases (of the vaccine) showed that it is safe, effective and triggered the right response." Officials said the emergency approval was granted on "meeting a set criteria for this specific purpose, and working closely with the vaccine's developers".   KATHMANDU:   Nepal Airlines’ Senior Pilot Vijay Lama has tested positive for coronavirus infection. It has been learnt that another NA pilot too has contracted Covid-19.On Sunday, a NA flight had airlifted an army team to Sudan and the pilots and crew got their swabs collected the very day.
